Valentino Rossi will be defending the title he comfortably won in 2008 but will face top-class oposition from Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo.  Great Britain's James Toseland will be looking to build on a highly-successful debut season with the Tech 3 Yamaha team.   Suzi Perry will be presenting with commentary coming from Steve Parrish and Charlie Cox and pit lane reports from Matt Roberts.  For the first time, qualifying from every race of the 2009 MotoGP season will be available on the BBC Red Button and the BBC Sport website.

The BBC will also be showing full coverage of the 125cc and 250cc races, including qualifying.  And if you miss any of the action live don't worry - they wll be looping all qualifying and race action on the Red Button immediately after it's happened.  Or you can watch the race again on the BBC iPlayer service for seven days after it has happened.
